Origin of Life, Computational Biology & Neuroscience

Researcher — Origin of Life, Computational Biology & Neuroscience

A researcher of life as one continuous question — from the prebiotic chemistry that first wrote a cell to the cognitive computation running in the human brain today. Three braided strands: origin of life, computational biology, and computational neuroscience.

A single question, stretched across deep time

Life is one continuous problem stretched from a 4.5-billion-year-old solar system cooling into prebiotic chemistry, to the computing brain reading this sentence. The research program splits that problem into three braided strands and works each with the same method: build a computational tool that lets the question be tested, not just argued.

1 · Origin of life

At daneshagahi.com — a Persian-language platform of essays, books, curated theories and a fourteen-stage evolutionary timeline from the formation of the moon to the appearance of modern humans — a public-facing Origin of Life project anchors the strand. It covers abiogenesis, prebiotic chemistry, the RNA world and ribozymes, and protocells built from fatty acids. The same questions feed the next strand.

2 · Computational biology

A genome is biology compiled. Intellomix turns a single 30× whole-genome sequence into a 400-trait wellness report — anonymous-by-design, with an ancestry layer adapted for under-represented Caucasus populations and a GPU-backed pipeline sized for clinical scale. The science of what life is becomes the science of what we can read from a living code.

3 · Computational neuroscience

Fifteen years of cognitive research on the human brain, conducted with the Vesal Brain & Cognition Clinic (کلینیکِ مغز و شناختِ وصال) in Iran. The clinical research feeds two productized arms and a research-grade tool stack:

Origin of life

Abiogenesis, the RNA world, protocells and a fourteen-stage evolutionary timeline — open and Persian on daneshagahi.com.

The question

How does a non-living chemical mixture become a living, evolving cell? The Origin of Life strand approaches the question through three concrete entry points and one public-facing platform.

Three concrete pieces

  • Chronological timeline of evolution — a curated fourteen-stage map from the formation of the solar system through the Late Heavy Bombardment, the oldest geological evidence of life, the proliferation of cyanobacteria and the Cambrian explosion, to the appearance of modern humans. Bilingual, browsable, and used as the spine of the rest of the work.
  • Ribozyme and the RNA world — a deep-dive into RNA as the original informational and catalytic molecule, ribozymes, and how a self-replicating RNA can predate DNA-protein life.
  • Protocell — early lipid-vesicle compartments and the role of fatty acids in bootstrapping the first cell-like enclosures, where prebiotic chemistry concentrates enough to start evolving.

The platform

daneshagahi.com publishes essays, books, theory pages and a curated set of recent results — for example, what the Bennu asteroid sample-return told us about the prebiotic ingredients of life, and the concept of emergence (نوظهوری) as the philosophical frame the whole field needs. The platform is Persian-language and intentionally open: science communication is part of the research.

Computational biology

Whole-genome sequencing turned into 400 wellness traits — Intellomix, the ancestry layer for under-represented populations, and a GPU pipeline sized for clinical-scale data.

The question

If a genome is biology compiled, what can it tell a healthy person about themselves — accurately, ethically, and at scale?

Intellomix — the working answer

Intellomix (see the project page): a single 30× whole-genome sequence becomes a 400-trait wellness report spanning nutrition, fitness, sleep, personality and disease predisposition, delivered as a cross-platform app and a polished trilingual PDF.

Engineering depth

  • A FASTQ/VCF → trait-calling → report pipeline that runs over 400 traits at clinical scale.
  • An ancestry layer adapted for under-represented Caucasus reference panels — the population genetics most consumer DNA products silently ignore.
  • Anonymous-by-design: identity stays with the partner lab; the platform never learns who the customer is.
  • In-region hosting and out-of-band credential delivery for data-residency compliance.

Why this strand

Origin-of-life work asks what life is. Computational biology asks what we can read from a life that already exists. Both questions sit on the same axis — information in chemistry — and the same engineering bench supports both.

Computational neuroscience

15 years inside the Vesal Brain & Cognition Clinic — qEEG, VR rehab, standardised cognitive batteries, and a patent-pending CogAI Cognition Empowerment platform.

The question

How does the living brain compute — and how do we measure, model and repair that computation in a real human, not a textbook?

Fifteen years inside one clinic

The strand grew out of a fifteen-year collaboration with the Vesal Brain & Cognition Clinic (کلینیکِ مغز و شناختِ وصال) in Iran. Clinical cognitive research there continually feeds two productized arms and one research-grade tool stack.

Productized arms

  • Mind Health Riser (mindhealthriser.com) — clinical service line operating across Dubai and Oman. Core services: qEEG analysis and the Brain Radar Report (an AI tool surfacing risk factors from a qEEG), Cogniclear (early-Alzheimer detection by VR), BioVR (combining the two FDA-pathway concepts of virtual reality and biofeedback), and Vienna Test System (VTS) + LORETA neurofeedback consulting. Co-partners include the Vesal Center, Raderon AI Lab, Schuhfried, Virtuleap and PsyTechVR.
  • Vivid Med (vividmed.ca) — the CogAI product line, headquartered in Burnaby, BC: Cognition Insight (AI-driven cognitive profiling), Cognitive Early Detection (ML over standardised assessments), and Cognition Empowerment — a reinforcement-learning + virtual-reality + real-time-EEG platform, currently in patent prosecution. The stack runs on NVIDIA GPU / TensorFlow / Keras.

Research-grade tool stack

  • The Neuroguide Clinical Parser (project page) — qEEG dashboards (BrainHealth, Compare, Norm, Radar) plus the standardised cognitive batteries actually used in clinics: CANTAB, COGBAT, Raven, WISC, the Vienna Test System.
  • SyneuraX (project page) — a VR cognitive and motor rehabilitation platform (Unity 6 + .NET 10) whose exercises are built on classic neuropsychological paradigms (Corsi, WCST, Tower of London, Go/No-Go, Trail Making, n-back), with a therapist station that records clean, clinically meaningful metrics.
